Hyaluronic Acid

Updated: Apr 10, 2021

Hyaluronic acid is used for hydrating the skin and is naturally found in the body. When babies are born they have more hyaluronic acid than we will ever have and that’s why their skin looks Radiant, plump and soft. It has a silky, lightweight texture that draws water from the environment into your skin.

Your collagen, elastin and hylauronic acid are located in the dermis and start to degenerate in your 20’s from sun damage, smoking and environmental factors. This decline causes a lack of plumpness and moisture.

Benefits

Tips for application

  • Apply to damp skin after cleansing.

  • It can be used as a pre-serum to enhance the absorption of other products. Apply hyaluronic acid as your first step.

  • It is super important to seal in your Hyaluronic acid with a moisturiser as the air will pull out more water from your skin, leaving it even more dehydrated.

  • During the winter, the air is dry and it will take moisture from the deepest layer of your skin.

  • During the summer hyaluronic acid takes moisture from the air and draws it into your skin.

Fun fact - lip fillers

Hyaluronic acid is used as dermal fillers replacing collagen known as Juvederm. It lasts longer than collagen and is less likely to cause any reactions seeing as its naturally found in your body anyway. If you don't like your results, you can get them dissolved easily. The result is so subtle you wouldn't even notice there done. (Once you get the right amount)
